Q: Are the insoles waterproof?
A: They are water resistant, not waterproof.

Q: How accurate is RPM²?

  • The power meter was compared to Powertap due to their standing in the market, as well as their history of quality products. The RPM² power meter measurements are within 1% of those generated by Powertap
  • Gait measurements were compared to both the Vicon System used in hospitals, as well as the Treadmetrix calibrated industrial treadmill. Gait measurements consider step time, ground contact time, flight time, and heel to ball strike. All measurements are within 20 milliseconds of the calibrated system.
  • Range of motion (ROM) measurements were compared to a certified and calibrated swing arm. ROM measurements are within 1 degree of the calibrated system.

Q: Can personal training data from my device be uploaded to Training Peaks?
A: We are currently developing the capability and it will be available soon. This will be automatically delivered to your app on your smart device as a simple update.

Q: Can data be sent to another device through ANT or ANT+?
A: This is currently under consideration.

Q: Do you need to have your smart device with you when using RPM²?
A: Yes, the data is transmitted via Bluetooth technology so your smart device must be with you at all times.

Q: How long will the insoles last?
A: All components specifications are designed to last for between 1.5 million and 2.0 million strikes during the running portion of training exercises. This, for many athletes, is approximately 2 years following the recommended training exercises. The durability of your device will be dependent upon how you choose to use the device as a part of your training.

Q: How does this compare to other power meter devices on the market?
A: Power meters range from $2,000 to $4,000 and require maintenance every few years. The RPM² system offers longevity equivalent to, or better than traditional power meters, even if replacement RPM² systems are needed within a two year period.

Value Proposition:
The value of RPM² is that you have three devices in one (gait analysis, range of motion/ pressure analysis, cycling analysis to include a power meter. The cost of RPM² ranges from $699 to $749, compared to approximately $3,000 for similar tests/devices.
